Each rider and roadie is set a fundraising target of AUD $4,000. To be willing to ride a long way will take dedication, comittment and training. `Bike for Bibles' hopes that people will recognise this and support riders and also the Bible Society's aims for overseas literacy development.
$4000 sounds like quite a lot, but if I can get 32 people to donate $125, I will get to the target. This will mean you will support me for 1 day of the ride.
The Bible Society in Australia Overseas Literacy Projects has Deductible Gift Recipient status in accordance with rulings by the ATO. Their ABN is 85 214 424 729. Gifts of $2 and over are tax deductible.
Feel free to read my letter of endorsement from Rodney Olsen, the W.A. Coordinator for Bike for Bibles.
In 2003, funds raised by the Bible Society will be used for literacy development in India. The Bible Society distributes graded readers based on scriptures. This serves two purposes - empowers people with the skills to read and write, and distributes the bible to people that may have never come into contact with it before.
So donating towards the ride will achive 3 things, 1) encourage me to get out there and train and to do the ride, 2) give you a tax advantage and 3) help dozens and dozens of people in India learn to read and write better.
If you are interested in donating towards the ride or want more information please contact me via email at
david@pascoe.biz .
I have the ability to accept donations via credit cards using a secure web page, please email for details. I would also be delighted to post you a sponsorship form, where you can use your credit card directly - just drop me an email.
